Nei Gong, Qi Gong & Song Gong
Nei Gong literally means internal skill. It is a broad term referring to a spectrum of internal work within the Chinese traditions. The purpose of nei gong is to create an ongoing transformation within the practitioner, it is a practice of self cultivation.
The classic description of this transformation is one from the gross to the subtle, from Jing to Qi to Shen. These exercise as well as acting as a catalyst for this transformation can also serve more immediate goals from the martial, to health and spiritual development.
Different exercises are used to move through the transformation within one’s internal (nei) world. These can include jibengong, qi gong, song gong, jin gong as well as various meditations and alchemical practices.
